Goodwill to all (wo)men! Gorgeously stylish outfits for Christmas

Sumptuous velvets, unique jewellery and hand-made artisan pieces. It’s the season for all wise women to bear stylish gifts for themselves, ensuring you journey through Christmas with effortless ease.

We’ve put together three looks to love – and with their ethical and fair trade credentials, you’ll also bring good cheer to the passionate craftspeople who made them.

1. A Christmas Rose

Maude & Tommy outfit with At Last dress

A luxuriously classic Christmas look with a twist, this outfit pairs a red silk velvet dress by At Last (£169) with a hand-made rose collar by Corida Knit (£135).

This easy-to-wear tunic dress can be worn over cosy tights or leggings and is available in a range of colours, including a luxe burnished gold. The collection includes styles exclusive to Maude & Tommy, so you’ll be guaranteed to stand out from the crowd.

Corida Knit rose collar

The collar is hand-felted in Norfolk and can be worn over coats too, for an eye-catching way to add warmth to any plain garment. Pop into the shop to take a look at the range of colours available from this new supplier.

Corida Knit frame bag multi

If you really want to ramp up the winter florals, accessorise with this exquisite metal-framed bag (£159), also by Corida Knit. Each of these detailed flowers is hand-felted: a real Christmas cornucopia.

2. Exotic elegance

Ewa I Walla dress, PK Berry jacket

A shining example of how carefully-selected accessories can add impact to versatile basics, this outfit teams a black Ewa i Walla dress (£249) with a bright PK Berry jacket (£175) and two hand-made Ayala Bar necklaces (£339 and £269).

This cotton dress features a lace-up neckline and a frilled collar but its relaxed fit makes it easy to dress down for less dramatic occasions.

The jacket is a must for textile lovers, with its gorgeous embroidery overlaid on a striking geometric print – and its quirky tassel fasteners too. If you’re a fabric fanatic, check out the rest of our PK Berry range, all featuring exquisite textiles sourced from around the globe.

Playing on the magpie mosaic feel of the jacket, we’ve accessorised this look with two stunning Ayala Bar necklaces. For a glimpse into the fascinating tale behind these collectable pieces, hand-made in Israel, discover our Beautiful Back Story about this unusual designer.

3. Spiced tangerine

Inspiration for this, more unusual, festive colour story came from the fragrant, clove-studded tangerines we place on our Christmas mantlepiece.

The burnt orange dress (£229) features a velvet bodice and loose-fit crepe skirt for a really effortless look. It’s created by Bianco Levrin a brand based in Milan but with fabrics and inspiration taken from the founders’ global travels.

We’ve teamed it with the chocolate draped jacket (£349), also by Bianco Levrin, which provides just a flash of burnt orange as you move.

We’ve teamed the look with these Lotus Feet wood, seed, stone and crystal beads (£24) for a hint of the 1920s.
